Wounded Warrior Project
The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a national organization that provides support and resources to wounded veterans and their families. In Northwest Florida, the WWP has a strong presence with several offices located in Pensacola, Panama City, and Fort Walton Beach.The organization offers a variety of programs and services, including mental health support, career counseling, and financial assistance. One of the most impactful programs offered by the WWP is their Warrior Care Network, which provides free mental health care to veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other mental health issues. This program partners with four top academic medical centers across the country, including the University of Florida Health in Gainesville, to provide specialized care for veterans.
Veterans Florida
Veterans Florida is a state-funded organization that aims to connect veterans with employment opportunities in Florida. The organization offers a variety of resources and services, including job training programs, career fairs, and networking events. They also have a Veterans Business Outreach Center located in Pensacola that provides free business consulting services to veteran entrepreneurs. In addition to helping veterans find employment, Veterans Florida also offers a Florida Veteran Entrepreneurship Program that provides training and resources to help veterans start their own businesses.This program has been highly successful, with over 1,000 veterans completing the program and starting their own businesses in Florida.
Operation Homefront
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance and other support to military families in need. In Northwest Florida, the organization has a strong presence with offices in Pensacola and Panama City. They offer a variety of programs, including emergency financial assistance, transitional housing, and holiday meals for military families. One of the most impactful programs offered by Operation Homefront is their Homes on the Homefront program, which provides mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans and their families. Since its inception in 2012, this program has awarded over 600 homes to deserving military families across the country.Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

These posts offer a variety of services, including financial assistance, counseling, and community events. The VFW also has a strong presence on military bases in Northwest Florida, with many posts located on Eglin Air Force Base and Naval Air Station Pensacola. These posts provide a sense of community and support for active-duty service members and their families.
Heroes on the Water
Heroes on the Water is a national nonprofit organization that uses kayak fishing as a form of therapy for wounded veterans and their families. In Northwest Florida, the organization has several chapters, including one in Pensacola and one in Panama City.They offer free kayak fishing trips and other outdoor activities to help veterans cope with physical and mental injuries.
